Somatic Bodywork is an awareness based coaching method, integrating a variety of tools to support you.


How we work together?

For what purpose?


- Accessing body memory (e.g. childhood, teenage years, core life events, accidents)

- Finding language to verbalize specific events from the past, limiting your present life & human potential

- Experiencing a sense relief on the physical, emotional, mental level


Background:


- Somatic therapies were developed to help trauma survivors to relieve symptoms (anxiety, flashbacks, difficulty sleeping, dysregulated eating patterns, addiction, chaotic relationships)

- For the last years, somatic therapy has been effectively used to support individuals struggling with all kind of stressors

- Areas: relationships, intimacy, lack of security/trust, over/underachievers, anxiety/depression, emotional difficulties, chronic/recurring pain


Do I even need this? Why not?


- Many clients think, there is “nothing” to work on. No material from the past or present seems important. The status quo is familiar, yet maybe it does not feel like 100% happiness either.


- There can be inner resistance. The question, if your topics are even “valid or big enough” to be discussed. However, you don't need to in any urgent condition to do Somatic Bodywork.


- Maybe a feeling of insecurity occurs, because you do not know the coach/ bodyworker/ therapist. This is probably the most common. We all need trust, for it allows us to feel safe, to prevent potential danger. The first step takes a little courage. Almost all clients experience it. When we get to know each other, we can build a safe base. With time the feeling settles down.


No need to be in deep trouble or acute pain for Somatic Bodywork. It can be just curiosity to learn, to grow. An intention to step forward in your life. That’s reason enough.
